In just two years the CWP Renewables Ride for Rural Mental Health Research has raised in excess of $30,000. This funding has been paramount in funding or part funding the following projects:
- Impact of health services on infants in rural and remote parts of Australia” – Mohammad Basim Al-Ansari 2015-2018 Funding Partner PhD Scholarship University of Sydney;
- Detecting fatal and non-fatal suicide attempt clusters in young people;
- Projects which assist children with anxiety and other psychological interventions through smart phone apps and the like and directed at people living in remote areas; and
- Improving Social engagement of rural ‘at risk’ youth – A randomised effectiveness trial – Helen Stain 2011-2012 Mental Health Grant University of Newcastle.
The above research grants have given health professionals valuable information to put valuable resources into place in rural and remote Australia.
